Gilligan’s football journey began at a young age when he joined the youth academy of Shamrock Rovers FC in Ireland. He quickly stood out for his talent and was eventually promoted to the first team. Gilligan made his professional debut for Shamrock Rovers in 2014 and played a key role in the team’s success in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
