O’Keeffe began his football career in the youth system of Manchester City before moving on to Walsall FC in 2015. He made his professional debut for Walsall in a League Cup match against Nottingham Forest in August 2017. O’Keeffe spent several seasons at Walsall, where he showcased his speed, technical skills, and versatility as a winger or full-back.
