Grimshaw started his youth career at Manchester City, where he spent several years developing his skills as a goalkeeper. As a highly-rated prospect, he eventually made his way through the ranks and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2016. He made his senior debut for Manchester City in a League Cup match against Leicester City in 2018.
