McCart started his football career at Celtic FC, one of the most successful clubs in Scottish football. He came up through the youth academy at Celtic and made his senior debut for the club in 2014. He then went on to have loan spells at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and St. Mirren, where he gained valuable experience playing in the Scottish Premiership.
