Rhodes began his footballing career at the youth academy of Ipswich Town before moving to Brentford in 2009. He quickly made a name for himself at Brentford, scoring 9 goals in 16 appearances during his one-year spell with the club. This caught the attention of Huddersfield Town, who signed Rhodes in 2009.
