Amantchi started his youth career at Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Derby County in 2018. He made his professional debut for Derby County in 2018 and went on to make a total of 5 first-team appearances for the club. During his time at Derby County, Amantchi also had loan spells at National League North clubs Mickleover Sports and Matlock Town.
