Platt began his youth career at Blackburn Rovers and spent several years developing his skills within the club’s academy system. He made his professional debut for the club in the 2015-2016 season before being loaned out to non-league side Barrow in order to gain more experience. Platt impressed during his loan spell and caught the eye of several clubs, eventually signing a permanent deal with Accrington Stanley in 2018.
