Pope began his career at the youth academy of his hometown club, Ipswich Town, before moving to Charlton Athletic in 2011. He spent several seasons on loan at various lower league clubs, gaining valuable experience and honing his skills before finally making his breakthrough in the first team at Burnley in 2016.
