Trusty began his professional career with Philadelphia Union in 2016, where he made his debut in the MLS at the age of 18. He spent three seasons with the Union, making a total of 56 appearances and establishing himself as a key player in their defense. In 2020, Trusty was traded to Colorado Rapids, where he continued to impress with his performances on the pitch.
