Squires began his career in the youth academy of his hometown club, Liverpool FC. He showed immense talent and quickly progressed through the ranks, eventually earning a spot in the first team. However, due to the fierce competition for places in the squad, Squires was loaned out to several lower league clubs to gain experience and playing time.
