Webster began his career at York City in 2006 where he made over 50 appearances before moving to Czech club FK Baumit Jablonec on loan in 2008. After returning to York City, he then earned a move to League One side Doncaster Rovers in 2009. Webster had short loan spells at Hereford United and Northampton Town during his time with Doncaster Rovers.
