Allen began his football career playing for the youth academy of Rochdale AFC. He quickly made a name for himself with his skillful playmaking abilities and was eventually promoted to the first team in 2012. During his time at Rochdale, Allen made over 150 appearances and scored 13 goals, becoming a key player for the club.
