Staunton began his youth career at Charlton Athletic before moving to QPR’s academy. He then went on to sign his first professional contract with QPR in 2014. During his time at QPR, Staunton had loan spells at Hampton & Richmond Borough, Bishop’s Stortford, and Dagenham & Redbridge.
