Before joining Blackburn Rovers, Gilsenan played for the youth academies of several clubs including St. Kevin’s Boys, Leicester City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He impressed scouts with his performances at youth level and was eventually signed by Blackburn Rovers in 2020.
