Gil began his professional career at Sevilla, one of the top clubs in Spain, where he rose through the ranks of the youth system. He made his first-team debut for Sevilla in 2019, and went on to make a total of 21 appearances for the club, scoring two goals. His impressive performances caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, who signed him in the summer of 2021.
