Kelce was born 
on October 5, 1989, in Westlake, Ohio. He attended Cleveland Heights High School before playing college football at the University of Cincinnati. In the 2013 NFL Draft, Kelce was selected by the Chiefs in the third round as the 63rd overall pick.
