Hooper’s talent didn’t go unnoticed, and he soon joined Southend United in 2006, where he made a significant impact and caught the eye of scouts from higher-tier clubs. In 2008, he signed for Scottish Premier League side Celtic, where he enjoyed a successful spell, scoring 82 goals in 137 appearances and winning multiple league titles and cups.
