Opawole’s career in professional football began when he joined the youth academy of a local team in Lagos. He quickly rose through the ranks and caught the attention of scouts from European clubs. In 2010, Opawole signed his first professional contract with a team in Belgium before moving to France to play for a Ligue 1 club.
