Hunt made his Formula 1 debut in 1973 with the Hesketh Racing team, where he quickly gained a reputation for his aggressive driving style and his charismatic personality. He went on to race for the McLaren team from 1976 to 1978, winning the World Championship in 1976 after a dramatic and closely contested season.
